Nick Griffin, BNP and the BBC
by
Dave Wateridge
on Thu 22 Oct 2009 11:16 PM BST
Whatever your political viewpoint the BBC have certainly shown their true colours in not be the impartial channel they say they are. Has any other political leader had such a biased audience and panel hand picked to attack them? Of course not.
All it seems to have done, once you get past the national papers creaming themselves over it, is raise sympathy for the party instead of alienating people to their cause

Credit Card
by
Dave Wateridge
on Thu 22 Oct 2009 07:14 PM BST
Some little shite has cloned my credit card or somehow stolen it's details.
I am now without a card while Mint send me a new one.
They couldn't even use it somewhere glamourous, whos clones a card and goes shopping in WH Smiths!

New owners, again!
by
Dave Wateridge
on Sun 04 Oct 2009 12:04 PM BST
Well it appears Sulaiman Al Fahims ownership of Portmouth maybe the shortest in history as it now looks like he is going to sell a "majority" holder to the Al-Faraj consortium that was put together by Peter Storrie.
Quite why he bought the club in the first place is beyond me when he clearly does not have the money for it

Worst ever !

Start for a Premiership team.
Six straight defeats, we are surely going down

How can they honestly believe it cost £360 a month to support one child!!

I hate it
Just finished doing my bedroom and now trying to put everything back without making it look a mess again

Takeover complete
by
Dave Wateridge
on Tue 21 Jul 2009 12:09 PM BST
After what has seemingly been the longest takeover saga in football history Portsmouth finally have a new owner in Mr Sulaiman Al Fahim.
Not convinced he has any real money to boost the team and it sure needs boosting at the moment even more so if we continue with the plan to sell Peter Crouch

HD and Blu-Ray
by
Dave Wateridge
on Fri 26 Jun 2009 10:56 AM BST
Well once again it's time to catch up with modern technology, also called technolust.
Just bought myself a 19" Sony KDL-19L4000 HD TV and Sony BDP-S350 Blu-Ray player, in theory I can convert the player to accept my Region One DVDs as well.
Would have been nice to have a larger TV but 19" is about the biggest I can get in my room

Clearout time at Portsmouth
by
Dave Wateridge
on Sun 21 Jun 2009 11:28 AM BST
As expected a number of players have gone.
The obvious ones like Jerome Thomas, Djimi Traore, Glen Little and Lauren went. Unfortunately Sean Davis also decided to try his luck elsewhere with Bolton looking to be the most likely destination.
Both Sol Campbell and Hermann Hreidarsson have been offered new contracts and hopefully both will sign as we are desperately short of number for next season

Portsmouth in new hands
by
Dave Wateridge
on Wed 27 May 2009 06:59 PM BST
Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim has been confirmed official as having a bid accepted to buy the club.
He was head of the original group to buy Manchester City so not sure how his involvement in that effects us, will be interesting to see how much money he brings with him. I doubt we will be title challengers

Anniversary!

on Tue 26 May 2009 07:26 PM BST
It would have been my 21st Wedding Anniversary today, thank fuck I got let out when I did

First signing!
by
Dave Wateridge
on Sun 24 May 2009 09:21 PM BST
Before the last season has even ended Portsmouth have made their first signing for next year.
Unfortunately nothing to get over excited about as it's Aaron Mokoena who didn't exactly set the world alight at Blackburn, and he's also another defensive midfielder!
?
Replacing Sean Davis maybe?

Newcastle relegated!
by
Dave Wateridge
on Sun 24 May 2009 07:16 PM BST
Probably the best thing that has happened in this otherwise disappointing season.
Far too long have they had a high opinion of themselves and their worship of the so called messiahs Shearer and Keegan is laughable.
Still, a trip to Scunthorpe should be an experience for them

Korg 03R/W
by
Dave Wateridge
on Sat 23 May 2009 07:24 PM BST
Well I went shopping for a Korg M1 and somehow managed to buy a Korg 03R/W which I finally got around to connecting up today along with the Roland A-880.
It's not a bad synth, just not sure it adds anything that the MU90R didn't offer me, maybe if I learn how to program some of this gear I may appreciate their value more

Women
by

on Mon 18 May 2009 11:12 PM BST
Is it just me or does everyone go on a downer when bumping into ex-gfs?

Portsmouth 3 v 1 Sunderland
by
Dave Wateridge
on Mon 18 May 2009 11:10 PM BST
Well at least we finally got a good result for our last game at home.
Dire first half but an entertaining second one including a cameo from Linvoy Primus

Poker!
by
Dave Wateridge
on Fri 15 May 2009 11:44 PM BST
After far too many attempts I finally won at poker, albeit it a split pot and a play-off for the tophy but it still counts.
Pity that the evening was once agained marred by arguments, really don't know why I bother playing sometimes

The return of ULTRAVOX!
by
Dave Wateridge
on Tue 28 Apr 2009 11:24 PM BST
You know the feeling you get when something that was so great in the past turns out to be a disappointment when you see it again?
Well Ultravox were certainly no disappointment, from the opening bars of Astradyne to the encore of The Voice they were absolute perfection.
Must admit I never expected to see them again as a band but well worth the wait, hopefully they will tour again and maybe even some new material.
Well done Midge Ure, Billy Currie, Chris Cross and Warren Cann

Southampton Football Club
by
Dave Wateridge
on Thu 02 Apr 2009 07:18 PM BST
Not a usual subject for here but yesterday their "Parent Company" went into administration.
At the moment they are trying to escape a points reduction next season by using the argument it's the parent company and not the club itself in administration, how this works when the club is the PLCs only source of income remains to be seen.
Appears the League are meeting to discuss this so Southampton may not escape the penalties, as it stand they will not exist if they cannot find a buyer by the end of summer if not sooner.
I would be laughing if I wasn't worried Portsmouth could be heading the same way in the future, at least I have my Havant shirt

MIDI Cables
by
Dave Wateridge
on Sun 08 Mar 2009 04:55 PM GMT
After a lot of work I think I finally have all my MIDI cables routed and working.
Does appear that both the A-880 and the DACS are happy and even the DD-10 seems to be triggering correctly, time will tell
Tuesday, March 3

Portsmouth 0 v 1 Chelsea
by
Dave Wateridge
on Tue 03 Mar 2009 11:35 PM GMT
Average game, poor result, atrocious weather and and unfortunate meeting with the ex-girlfriend all made for a fairly dismal day out
Saturday, February 28

AFC Wimbledon
by
Dave Wateridge
on Sat 28 Feb 2009 10:20 PM GMT
Well done to Havant for holding an impressive Wimbledon side to a 0-0 draw today, still don't look like scoring though!
An attendance of 1700 was very good, officially 800 were from Wimbledon but I would guess they had more than that. An extremely well supported non-league team!

Bloody MIDI!
by
Dave Wateridge
on Sun 22 Feb 2009 05:03 PM GMT
Spent most of last weekend rewiring all my gear, both MIDI and audio, and now I'm get odd or no data on MIDI.
Still not 100% sure whats causing it, bypass all the switches and everything works but pass it through the Philip Rees or the DACS and it causes problems. Think it is probably the Philip Rees 5x5 that is causing the problem but not sure which one.
I'm bidding on a Roland A-880 on eBay which, if I win, could replace one, if not both, Philip Rees boxes (even though it was the DACS I was looking to replace

Adams sacked
by
Dave Wateridge
on Mon 09 Feb 2009 06:59 AM GMT
Unofficial reports, well every paper, is saying that Tony Adams has been sacked as Portsmouth manager.
Not surprising given the bad form we are in albeit with some improved performances, if not results, in the last few weeks.
Odds on it being either Avram Grant or Alan Curbishley as replacement

Me and the FA Cup
by
Dave Wateridge
on Thu 05 Feb 2009 07:30 PM GMT
Well it made an unexpected visit to my place of work today and I managed to get my self photographed with it.
Hopefully a good omen for the team!
Friday, January 16

Jermaine Pennant
by
Dave Wateridge
on Fri 16 Jan 2009 04:58 PM GMT
A bid accepted which would make him out first signing in January but he appears to want to stay at Liverpool, odd considering they don't want him
Saturday, January 3

Matt Smith - Doctor Who
by
Dave Wateridge
on Sat 03 Jan 2009 08:02 PM GMT
No a name I know but glad they didn't cast a woman or overly camp actor which I was worried they would

FA Cup 3rd Round
by
Dave Wateridge
on Sat 03 Jan 2009 07:59 PM GMT
Well we kicked off the defence of our cup with a garbage display against Britstol City.
At least we didn't lose but another dismal display which does not bode well for the rest of the season, relegation is looking a possibility

Lassana Diarra leaves
by
Dave Wateridge
on Mon 22 Dec 2008 08:20 PM GMT
Lassana Diarra seals his move to Real Madrid for a club record fee, whether its the quoted £20M remains to be seen.
Cannot blame him for going in the slightest but a sad loss to Portsmouth
Saturday, December 20

Bolton 2 v 1 Portsmouth
by
Dave Wateridge
on Sat 20 Dec 2008 08:20 PM GMT
When you spend the week mentioning how many open goals Matty Taylor missed in the previous game you just know he's going to score this time and he did, in the second minute!
Followed a minute later by a second goal by Ricardo Gardner we knw it was not our day and a faint glimmer of hope with another Crouch goal was our only shot on target

Flu, I hate it
by
Dave Wateridge
on Sat 20 Dec 2008 02:54 PM GMT
Been off work for two days, had to take my won leave to avoid losing a payrise and its now Saturday and I still feel like shit.
Tried posting my sons parcel this morning but almost passed out in the queue so had to give up on that.
On top of that my IBS is causing me proplems as well
The season of joy!

Diarra to Real Madrid
by
Dave Wateridge
on Wed 17 Dec 2008 10:50 PM GMT
It has been reported and confirmed by the OS that Lassanna Diarra is in talk with Real Madrid about a move.
The fee is said to be around £20M which we can't really refuse.
Sad to see him go as the guy is the classiest player since Robert Prosinecki

The Colour Of Poker
by
Dave Wateridge
on Mon 08 Dec 2008 06:53 PM GMT
Due to World War 3 breaking out over the colour of a piece of card and someones inability to make a poker evening they had no intention of going to anyway I have withdrawn from the EAB Poker,.
It's a pity but when people think something that is meant to be a bit of fun is worth throwing your teddy out of the pram for well then I think it's time to leave.

Christmas Sale
by
Dave Wateridge
on Sun 07 Dec 2008 11:40 AM GMT
Portsmouth Football Club are now officially up for sale and we have apparently already rejected two bids
Saturday, December 6

Havant 1 - 2 Dorchester
by
Dave Wateridge
on Sat 06 Dec 2008 09:48 PM GMT
Still no home win for Havant and it cannot be long before Shaun Gale pays the price, despite dominating for long periods the inability to find that final touch in front of goal costs them again.
A good free kick from Brett Poate and a promising debut from Robbie Martin where the high points
