View Article  New ground!!!!

After weeks of waiting and many rumours as to its location, including Radio Solent announcing it was HMS Nelson, the plans for Portsmouths new home is revealed.

Apparently a £600m development on the hard next to HMS Warrior, can't see it ever happening myself.

Sad to hear of the death of Alan Ball, always remembered for building one of the most charismatic Portsmouth teams I have seen and giving us 3 great seasons in the old Division Two.

Well after 3 attempts and 3 sackings before the end of my first season ( 2 with Portsmouth and 1 with Havant ) I finally seem to be making progress. Finished 4th from bottom in my first season and currently mid-table in my second.

Now thats progress!

Got my second Philip Rees CSF (Channel Shifter & Filter). Useful device for someone like me that can't play keyboards very well and can never get to grips with velocity response.

The first one was used with my M-Audio Controller keyboard, this one has gone between the Korg DW-8000 and the Philip Rees 5x5.

After beating the best team in England they then follow that up by losing (badly) to the worst team in the Premiership. Hopefully LuaLua will be off at the end of the season to grace some other ground with his overblown ego and bad atitude.

Roll on next season!

Certainly doesn't seem like 25 years since that happened. Still probably the most patriotic I have ever felt in my life..

In the third year of my apprenticeship at the time and spent the weekend on HMS Hermes on the glamourous job of refitting pipework in the Midshipmans toilet as far as I can remember! The following Monday the dockyard was full of squaddies loading the ships with stores.

Amazing experience.
