When you spend the week mentioning how many open goals Matty Taylor missed in the previous game you just know he's going to score this time and he did, in the second minute! Followed a minute later by a second goal by Ricardo Gardner we knw it was not our day and a faint glimmer of hope with another Crouch goal was our only shot on target

It has been reported and confirmed by the OS that Lassanna Diarra is in talk with Real Madrid about a move. The fee is said to be around £20M which we can't really refuse. Sad to see him go as the guy is the classiest player since Robert Prosinecki Monday, December 8

Still no home win for Havant and it cannot be long before Shaun Gale pays the price, despite dominating for long periods the inability to find that final touch in front of goal costs them again. A good free kick from Brett Poate and a promising debut from Robbie Martin where the high points Thursday, December 4

After a rather up and down performance against Wolfsburg which saw us temporarily leading 2-1 at one stage we finally crash 2-3 and due to Braga winning with go out. The game will be remembered for a return to the Calamity James of old with probably his worst howler in a Pompey shirt. Still, we played in Europe and almost beat AC Milan
