View Article  David Beckham and England

Good start by Fabio Capello in my opinion.

For me the thing that's been wrong with the England set up is too many players getting in the team on reputation alone and not form.

If Beckham can play regularly and at a high level then by all means give him his 100th cap

View Article  Man Utd 2 v 0 Portsmouth

Never got a look in, really looked like a case of men against boys and how we kept it at only 2-0 is beyond me.

Think ManUre let us off the hook to be honest

Would you believe I've been banned from the forum for daring to suggest not all old synthesizers are great!

Some on there would buy a turd if it had a Moog badge on it

Signs on loan from Lyon

Not quite the Defoe, Crouch or Gudjohnson we were hoping for so we shall wait and see

View Article  The FA Cup and Havant and Waterlooville

Good to see what made the FA Cup so special in the past happening again, and involving a local side.

The expected landslide of goals didn't happen and in fact Havant twice took the lead before Liverpools extra skill and fitness gave them the inevitable victory.

Now if only the brass at the BBC had seen what everyone had seen and shown it live!

View Article  Portsmouth 2 v 1 Plymouth Argyle

Not the most convincing of wims against a lower league team, but I suppose they all count.

Like the previous week we gifted the opposition a 1-0 lead which could easily have been 2-0 10 mins later.

Into the last 16 with Southampton still in the draw, who knows!

View Article  Portsmouth 3 v 1 Derby County

Back to winning ways, although Derby gave us a scare at the beginning and we could easily have been 2-0 down after 10 mins.

At the end it seemed more like an exhibition match with Derby showing easily why they are where they are in the league.

Lassana Diarra had probably the best debut in a Portsmouth shirt since D'Allesandro, certianly worth the £5m he cost

View Article  Transfer window

After a quiet start things are beginning to happen

IN

Lassana Diarra - Arsenal

Lucien Aubey - Lens

OUT

Matt Taylor - Bolton

Djimi Traore - Rennes

Sad in some ways to see Matty Taylor go and will always be remembered for his contribution to the Championship team and some rather spectacular Premiership goals but unfortunately he has never looked like becoming the player we hoped he would be at this level

View Article  Two teams in Hampshire!!!!

No I don't mean the grubby lot in red down the M27 but the rather wondeful Havant & Waterlooville who, against all odds, beat the League One high flyers Swansea City 4-2 at West Leigh Park.

After taking an early 3-0 lead the Hawks were dragged back into the game at 3-2, potentially much worse but for a penatly save from Kevin Scriven.

Late in the game, and against the run of play, Tom Jordon made the game safe with a header.

Next stop Anfield and Liverpool

View Article  Sunderland 2 v 0 Portsmouth

Another dismal performance!

A Campbell mistake allows Richardson to score the first goal followed later by his impressive second.

Portsmouth very short on numbers and fielding a very light weight midfield that created little for our shot shy front men. Not a good day

View Article  Redknapp staying!

After keeping us hanging on, Harry redknapp has now turned down the Newcastle job.

View Article  Allardyce out and Redknapp in?

Now that Sam Allardyce has been sacked by Newcastle the barcodes have set their sights on Redknapp to take the job.

First the England and now Newcastle, the mans in demand. Unfortunately this one looks like it might actually come off!

View Article  Well done Havant!!
A goal by Rocky Baptiste earned them a draw away at League One Swansea in the FA Cup, good luck in the replay.
View Article  Ipswich 0 v 1 Portsmouth

For the second game running we are helped by a sending off. This time in rather controversial circumstances by all accounts.

Not a great performance and we were in fact left hanging on desperately at the end but David Nugents goal proved decisive

Does exactly what it says on the tin!

Quick and simply copied my hard drive over to the new one.

Minor panic when I realised my new drive used a different power connected then the usual type, a search in the loft found the correct adapter only to find my power supply already had the correct type.

View Article  Reading 0 v 2 Portsmouth

Helped by an early sending off Portsmouth continue to do what they so dramatically fail to do at home, win!

Campbell opened his account for the season and Utaka finally got himself out of first gear and left Shorey looking like a donkey to score the second
